KAITERITERI, ABEL TASMAN

21st February 2019

Welcome to the South Island (the bit we’re most excited for!)

We arrived in Kaiteriteri, Abel Tasman after catching the ferry over from Wellington to Picton and then driving from Picton to Kaiteriteri. Although it was a long day of driving it didn’t feel too bad as we had lots of stops along the way.

We arrived in Kaiteriteri in the evening and spent the remainder of the day having dinner and sitting on the beach.

The following morning we caught a ferry to Torrent Bay in Abel Tasman National Park and started our 4 hour walk.

And saw some seals... the hike was beautiful and we spent some time on the beach halfway through lounging in the sun.

Later on in the day we got picked up by the ferry again at Onetahuti Bay which ended up being about a 11.4km walk. Very pleased indeed with our walking recently!
