LAKE ROTOITI, NELSON LAKES

22nd February 2019

We really didn’t do that much today, however, we felt that you'd enjoy some of the photos that we took.

We left Kaiteriteri about midday after finding out that a 400m long landslide had caused the main highway to Franz Josef down the west coast to close. Therefore, many of the buses have to divert down to Wanaka, skipping Franz Josef for a few days (not ideal). Anyway, lucky us we still have a few nights ahead of us before we get there so we’re spending an extra night in Westport, which is a quaint surfer town.

Upon driving to Westport we stopped off at the wonderful Lake Rotoriti and got the candid Instagram shots (it would be rude not to).

There was also a really friendly duck that we decided to have a photo shoot with and really felt you wouldn’t want to miss out on these classic but stylish duck shots...

So now we are spending two nights chilling on the beach, catching up on sleep and getting our tans on (try not to all be too jealous haha 🤷🏼‍♀️)
